Raine & Horne Hervey Bay, one of the Fraser Coast’s longest-established real estate businesses, has changed hands for just the second time in its 43-year history.

Sales Manager Tim Wessling, who has been with the firm for two decades, has taken over as Principal of both Raine & Horne Hervey Bay and Raine & Horne Commercial Hervey Bay, succeeding long-term owner Graham Cockerill.

Founded in 1982 by Jack Delaney, the agency was acquired by Mr Cockerill in 1992. Under his leadership, it expanded into commercial real estate and became a leading regional real estate office.

Mr Cockerill and long-serving General Manager Emmy Turner will remain involved with the firm to ensure a seamless transition for vendors, landlords, tenants, and staff.

Mr Wessling, who has served as Sales Manager for the past eight years, described the step-up to Principal as both an honour and a long-term career goal.

“It’s a real privilege to take over a business that’s had only three principals in more than 40 years. Graham has been a very hands-on principal and a mentor to me throughout my career, and I’m proud to carry forward the legacy he and Emmy have built,” Mr Wessling said.

When it came to stepping up as Principal, Mr Wessling said the decision was an easy one. “Since joining Raine & Horne, I’ve always respected the brand. It offers excellent systems and technology, but more importantly, it’s a name people know and trust.”

Looking ahead, Mr Wessling is focused on growth and strengthening the team’s market presence.

“This is already a very successful Raine & Horne office, but I want to take it to the next level. That means expanding our sales and property management teams, growing our commercial footprint, and continuing to leverage the power of the Raine & Horne brand to open doors for appraisals and listings across the region,” he said.

Mr Wessling noted the strong local market as a platform for future success.

“We’re seeing very strong buyer demand across both residential and commercial property in Hervey Bay.

On the commercial property front, business confidence is reflected in leasing activity, and that in turn is attracting investors. It’s a great time to be part of the Fraser Coast property market.”

Mr Cockerill congratulated Mr Wessling on the transition. “Tim is a proven sales leader with deep ties to the Hervey Bay community.

"His decision to take the reins ensures continuity for our clients while the next chapter for both our residential and commercial businesses in the Hervey Bay region is in safe hands."
