Backed by new insights into how Australians search with AI
Alongside the NextGen Now product launch, realestate.com.au has released early research outlining how Aussies are using AI search to search for property. The research draws on findings from the conversational AI search tools available on realestate.com.au and highlights the opportunity agents have to ensure their listings are AI ready.
Key trends:
• Lifestyle over postcodes: Australians are defining where they want to live by the life they want to live. 59% of AI search sessions start wide, with people searching by lifestyle goals or commute before narrowing to specific suburbs.
The life radius: Property seekers are searching by how much time they’re willing to spend travelling, with 32% of AI searches including a commute and travel radius, and 18% specifying an exact travel time.
• Is it a vibe? Buyers aren’t just describing property features; they’re describing what they need a home to be in their own words. 40% of AI searches ask about architectural style or aesthetic, or property condition and renovation potential.
• 72% of users adjust their search at least once when talking to AI. With each refinement, they get closer to a property that matches their checklist.
• Property seekers who use AI in their search journey are more likely to save, enquire, share or inspect a property.
