A groundbreaking initiative has been launched to address one of the most pressing challenges facing the real estate industry — men’s mental health.

The Men in Real Estate Project, spearheaded by mindset, motivation and accountability coach Jet Xavier, is set to shine a light on the hidden struggles many men in the profession face, while creating practical pathways to greater wellbeing, resilience and professional growth.

“The first step is listening,” Xavier explained. “So, a totally anonymous survey has been designed for men only to complete.”

The survey results will form the backbone of an industry-first report, due for release in November, offering critical insights into the realities of men working in the sector.

The report aims to provide businesses and leaders with the tools to better support male colleagues, while shaping support services nationwide.

Beyond the research, the project will roll out coaching programs, events, and development initiatives designed to help men achieve a healthier work-life balance and cultivate long-term success.

“This is about elevating business, mindset, habits and life,” Xavier said. “It’s for men ready to build a powerful business, a stronger identity, and a life that reflects who they truly are — not just what they do.

We help men upgrade their habits, relationships, mindset, and purpose — so they lead the market and their lives. It’s not just about struggle — it’s about growth and celebrating success.”

The timing is significant. Recent data from MRI Software revealed that 53 per cent of property managers are experiencing psychological distress, while Beyond Blue reports that nearly one in five Australian men have suffered a mood disorder at some point in their lives.

In real estate, Xavier said the challenges are often compounded by an industry culture of relentless performance, where many men silently endure pressure, burnout and fractured family connections.

The Men in Real Estate Project hopes to break that silence — creating open dialogue and support pathways that prioritise wellbeing alongside performance.

The report findings will be released in November, marking a pivotal step towards a healthier, more sustainable real estate profession.
