Harcourts Greater Springfield is proud to announce the overwhelming success of its recent fundraising initiative, "10km for $10k," held in heartfelt support of the Icon Cancer Foundation (ICF). The event, which brought the community together, has already raised over $15,000, exceeding its initial $10,000 target.

The initiative was deeply personal for the Harcourts Greater Springfield team, as their Principal, Rudy Grommen, is currently undergoing treatment for stage 4 colorectal cancer.

The funds raised will go directly to the Icon Cancer Foundation to support advanced cancer treatment, critical research projects, and compassionate patient care for Australians affected by cancer. The Harcourts Foundation also contributed $1,000 to the cause.

The many participants (pictured) were encouraged to walk, run, jog, or simply show their support to help reach the fundraising goal. The final tally is still being calculated as the last contributions are collected, but the team is thrilled to have already surpassed the $15,000 mark.

"At Harcourts Greater Springfield, we recently had the privilege of hosting an incredible event in support of Icon Cancer Center, a cause that holds a very special place in our hearts," said Janis Grommen, Office Manager at Harcourts Greater Springfield.

"This event was deeply personal for not just the Grommen family but our whole entire team. The outpouring of support from our community, clients, and colleagues was truly overwhelming, and we are so proud to have come together to raise awareness and vital funds for cancer care and research."

The day was filled with a sense of hope and solidarity, reinforcing the strong community spirit in the Greater Springfield area. The team expressed immense gratitude for the generosity shown by all who donated and participated.

"This event wasn't just about raising money,” finished Janis Grommen. “It’s about shining a light on the strength and unity of our community. Every step counts, every dollar makes a difference, and every life matters.”
