The Harcourts Foundation has officially announced Orange Sky as a Foundation partner, marking the beginning of a new relationship focused on supporting vulnerable Australians and strengthening community impact across the country.
The announcement was made at HX, Harcourts' flagship conference, where Lucas Patchett took to the stage to share the organisation's remarkable journey from a single mobile laundry service in Brisbane to a nationwide movement built on connection, dignity and practical support.
Patchett also thanked the Harcourts network for its support, acknowledging the role the Foundation and its people are playing in helping Orange Sky continue its important work.
The partnership announcement follows the success of the Harcourts Foundation Golf Day, held immediately prior to HX, which raised almost $20,000 for Orange Sky.
Pauline Smith, Head of the Harcourts Foundation, said the result reflected the generosity and community spirit that exists throughout the Harcourts network.
"The response from our network has been incredible," Smith said.
"To raise almost $20,000 through the Golf Day is a fantastic result, but what makes it even more meaningful is understanding the impact those funds can have through Orange Sky's work in communities across Australia."
During his presentation, Patchett reflected on Orange Sky's first decade of operation, which has seen the organisation grow from one van to a nationwide network operating across dozens of communities throughout Australia and New Zealand. Over that period, Orange Sky has facilitated more than 640,000 hours of conversation, washed 4.4 million kilograms of laundry, provided more than 52,000 warm showers, and created thousands of safe spaces where people experiencing hardship can connect without judgement.
Smith said those figures reinforced why the Foundation was proud to partner with the organisation.
"One of the things that resonated most strongly with our network was that Orange Sky isn't just about laundry or showers," she said.
"It's about connection. It's about creating a space where people feel seen, heard and valued. That aligns strongly with the values of the Harcourts Foundation and our belief in supporting stronger communities."
Founded in 2014 by two young Brisbane volunteers with a simple idea and a desire to help, Orange Sky now operates more than 60 services across Australia, supporting people experiencing homelessness and hardship through free laundry, warm showers and genuine conversation.
Patchett said partnerships like the one with the Harcourts Foundation play an important role in helping Orange Sky continue to grow its impact.
"Every load of washing, every warm shower and every conversation starts because people and organisations choose to get involved," Patchett said.
"Support like this helps us continue showing up for people doing it tough and creating opportunities for connection in communities right across the country."
The Golf Day brought together Harcourts business owners, agents, suppliers and industry partners from across Australia, with participants rallying behind the cause through donations, fundraising activities and sponsorship support.
The result continues the Harcourts Foundation's long-standing commitment to giving back, with the Foundation having now raised more than $10 million globally to support community initiatives.
