Leading Australasian real estate group Raine & Horne is delighted to announce that it will celebrate the 143rd anniversary of its launch on 23 May 2026 – a date that meshes perfectly with Australian Made Week, 18-24 May.

The Raine & Horne brand has been instrumental to the growth and success of Australia’s real estate industry since 1883, when Tom Raine and Joseph Horne opened the doors of their iconic property firm for the first time in Elizabeth Street, Sydney.

Today, 143 years later, Tom Raine’s great grandson, Angus Raine, continues the family’s legacy as Executive Chairman of the Raine & Horne Property Group.

Having survived two world wars, booms, busts, depressions, recessions, and pandemics, Raine & Horne is the perfect poster child for the enduring strength of a quality Aussie brand as Australians celebrate Australian Made Week.

Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne, said, “As a multi-national organisation and one of the world’s most substantial real estate networks, Raine & Horne has been recognised as an Australian super brand.

“There is no secret to the longevity of the Raine & Horne brand.

“We deliver consistent performance for our clients, and our scale – 360+ Australian and international offices – allows us to provide a platform to market property Australia-wide and internationally, while still giving our vendors and buyers the benefit of local knowledge.”

Raine & Horne brand “opens doors”

The past 143 years have seen Raine & Horne develop a tremendous sense of loyalty among both clients and the network’s principals.

Paul Pettenon, Principal/Licensee in Charge, Raine & Horne Concord|Strathfield launched Raine & Horne Concord from scratch in 1995, and in 2020, merged with Raine & Horne Strathfield. In 2025, Paul was among the network’s Top 10 Principals for Sales Gross Commission Income (GCI) and Number of Sales Transactions.

Mr Pettenon said, “I chose the Raine & Horne brand because it’s an Australian-based company. All the money stays in Australia, and we assimilate with every generation of Australian buyer – whether they are homeowners or investors.

“Australians have grown up with Raine & Horne through the good and hard years, through the wars and all these difficult times we’ve had. Our clients respect that it is a very safe name, an Australian name, and a really good Australian company.

“To this day, I find the Raine & Horne brand opens doors when it comes to appraisals and listings,” added Mr Pettenon.

Harnessing a legacy that stretches back over 140 years

Brandon Bourke, Managing Director of Raine & Horne Maclean| Yamba| Iluka, said Raine & Horne’s long-standing family stewardship and values-driven culture were major factors in his decision to switch his independent firm to Raine & Horne in 2023.

“When I made the decision to become part of the Raine & Horne network it was based on all aspects of our operations – technology, network presence, service quality, brand impact, culture, and community engagement.

“My team and I selected Raine & Horne due to shared values, the progressive culture and long term strategy. We see value in the network’s support, superior technology, and their strong commitment to the community.”

Mr Bourke adds, “What resonated with me at the time – and still does today, is that Angus Raine genuinely sees himself as the custodian of a family legacy that stretches back more than 140 years.

“That really connected with me because I similarly see myself as a custodian of the business we’ve built, with a responsibility to pass it on stronger for the next generation.”

Raine & Horne Maclean| Yamba| Iluka took out Raine & Horne’s ‘Top Office’ award in 2025 in the Queensland/Northern Rivers of NSW network for Sales GCI and second for Sales Transactions.

An Aussie icon – the perfect fit for Australian Made Week

Australian Made Week is the perfect time to reflect on the value of Aussie brands and the contribution they make to the Australian economy.

“As a brand with a blue chip Aussie history, Raine & Horne is proud to continue its track record of helping each generation of Australians achieve their property goals,” Mr Raine said.

Australian Made Week is the perfect time to reflect on the value of Aussie brands and the contribution they make to the Australian economy. Research commissioned by Australian Made Week found that if every Australian household spent an extra $20 a week on Australian-made products, it would inject almost $11 billion into the national economy and create an estimated 20,000 new jobs[i].

“As a brand with a blue-chip Aussie history, Raine & Horne is proud to continue its track record of helping each generation of Australians achieve their property goals,” Mr Raine said.

“Importantly, our role extends well beyond residential real estate. Through Raine & Horne Commercial and Raine & Horne Rural, we support Australian small businesses, farmers, investors and regional communities that are the backbone of the national economy.”

However, Raine & Horne is not resting on its laurels and is rolling out its new five-year corporate strategy, Align and Accelerate, developed following extensive consultation with principals and offices across the network.

The strategy focuses on expanding the group’s geographic footprint, strengthening office performance, further developing its AI and technology capabilities, and delivering enhanced support for principals, agents and property managers.
