Harcourts Tasmania achieved a remarkable milestone this weekend, raising just over $30,000 for the Harcourts Foundation during the silent and live auctions at their Annual Awards dinner. The unprecedented total marks the highest amount ever raised by the region at a single event, driven in large part by a highly competitive bidding war between two local offices (pictured).

The prize? The rare opportunity to have industry veteran Martin Cooper work in their office for a day.

Tony Morrison, co-CEO of Harcourts Tasmania, noted that the evening's success was a testament to the culture and ambition of the team. "We were absolutely blown away by the generosity in the room," Morrison said. "Raising over $30,000 is a massive record for us, and it truly shows the heart of our Harcourts family. Watching two of our offices stubbornly battle it out for a day with Martin was brilliant to watch—and incredibly exciting to see young entrepreneurs within the Harcourts group prepared to invest so much money into the betterment and development of their business."

Kate Littlejohn echoed the sentiment, highlighting the underlying spirit of the event. "The auctions at our Annual Awards dinner are always a highlight, but this year felt distinctly special," Littlejohn explained. "There was a genuine sense of partnership and a shared desire to give back to the communities that support us year-round."

The intense interest in the prize is a direct reflection of Martin Cooper's extensive track record of excellence. Having personally sold and negotiated more than 500 properties by auction and calling over 2,000 auctions himself, Cooper is a highly sought-after figure in the real estate world. Since being established in 1991, Cooper & Co has successfully sold over 30,000 properties. Under his leadership, his team has been recognised as the Number 1 Harcourts Franchise globally for 13 consecutive years, alongside taking home the REINZ Medium Agency of the Year award six years in a row.

Reacting to the auction's outcome, Cooper expressed deep respect for the winning offices and the significant financial commitment they made. "Seeing this level of passion for charity is what our network is all about. At Harcourts Cooper & Co, we support more than 1,800 organisations and community groups because fostering strong community connections isn't just good business; it’s simply the right thing to do," Cooper stated.

"These business owners deserve immense respect for making such a significant investment. They have committed heavily to improving their businesses, and I am equally committed to ensuring they receive a strong return on that investment through targeted support, coaching, systems, and leadership. My intention is to provide as much help as possible to these two businesses in Tasmania, helping create an environment of success and excellence for both their teams and their customers."

Cooper added, "My guiding principle is simple: better never stops. It reflects a commitment to continuous learning, delivering outstanding service, and creating clients for life. Seeing the Tasmanian team’s dedication to that same continuous improvement and community care is truly inspiring."

The funds raised will go directly to the Harcourts Foundation, supporting local charities and impactful community initiatives across the Tasmanian region.
