Harcourts Solutions Golf Day raises $13,000 for Mitchelton Special School

More than 60 golfers came together at Keperra Country Golf Club on Friday, 18 September, raising $13,000 for Mitchelton Special School through the second annual Harcourts Solutions Charity Golf Day.

The event brought together Harcourts Solutions agents and team members with members of the Mitchelton Special School community, as well as representatives from across the broader real estate industry, including the Harcourts Queensland team, Harcourts Property Hub, Campaign Agent and REA Group.

A highlight of the day was an auction of artwork created by students from Mitchelton Special School, with the proceeds contributing to the overall fundraising total.

The connection with Mitchelton Special School is a personal one for Harcourts Solutions Director Etienne Labuschagne, whose son attends the school.

Harcourts Solutions had been looking for a meaningful way to raise awareness and funds to support people with autism, and the school's work with students and the wider community proved a natural fit.

What began with the inaugural Golf Day has now developed into an ongoing commitment, with Harcourts Solutions planning to continue raising funds for Mitchelton Special School each year the event is held.

“It was a fantastic day of golf, great company and plenty of laughs, but most importantly, it was an opportunity to give back to our community and support Mitchelton Special School, our beneficiary,” Mr Labuschagne said.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make the day possible. The generosity of our sponsors, players, supporters and team will make a real difference to the students and the school community.”

Mitchelton Special School provides educational programs for students aged three to 18 who have an intellectual disability, with many students also living with additional disabilities including autism, hearing impairment, visual impairment and physical impairment.

The school places a strong emphasis on creating a connected and caring community for students, families and staff, with its vision of “live to learn, learn to live” at the heart of its approach.

The $13,000 raised through the Golf Day will go towards supporting the school and its facilities.

The event was supported by Arana Leagues Club, Search X, HKA and First Class Legal, with each business sponsoring a hole and helping make the fundraising event possible.

For Harcourts Solutions, the Golf Day is now more than an annual day on the calendar. It has become a way for its people, clients and industry partners to come together around a cause that has a genuine connection to their local community.

And with the commitment to return next year, the team is already looking forward to another opportunity to raise funds and support the students of Mitchelton Special School.
