From one bulletin in January 2025 to one of the most talked-about platforms in the industry, Nic Fren is betting the future of real estate media will not be built on inbox volume or recycled headlines. With the launch of My RET, a social media-style algorithm and smarter partner solutions, Real Estate Today is positioning itself as a personalised ecosystem built for how modern professionals actually live, work and engage.

Real Estate Today Unveils New Platform Experience Built For The Modern Agent

Real Estate Today has launched a major new platform experience aimed at reshaping how real estate professionals consume industry content, discover opportunities and engage with brands.

The release marks a significant step forward from the traditional trade media model of newsletters, static articles and broad advertising, with the business positioning itself as a more personalised, technology-led ecosystem for the industry.

At the centre of the launch is My RET, a member experience designed to give users greater control over what they see and how they interact with the platform.

Rather than every reader receiving the same experience, My RET allows users to tailor their journey based on the topics and categories most relevant to them.

By developing our own (social media algorithm) viewers can follow topics, podcasts & events that suit them and their interests and have more of the content they enjoy put in front of them instead of getting smashed with the content that doesn't.

According to founder and CEO Nic Fren, the objective was simple.

“The industry has changed, the way people consume information has changed, and what professionals expect from a media platform has changed,” Fren said.

“We wanted to build something that feels useful every time you open it, not just another place to read headlines.”

A key feature of the platform is a built-in social media-style algorithm that learns from audience behaviour.

Get Connects — Spring listings are WON in winter. Book a 15-min call.

The system looks at what users are reading, what they spend time on, what they return to and what they skip, then uses those signals to surface more relevant content over time.

That means an agent interested in auctions may see more market movement and sales trends, while a principal focused on growth may receive more leadership, recruitment or business strategy content.

The goal is to move away from one-size-fits-all publishing and towards a smarter, more relevant user experience.

The platform also introduces the Morning Wrap, a daily 60-second audio update hosted by Jake and Mia that delivers the key stories, market movements and industry talking points when users visit the site or arrive through email.

For those on My RET, articles can also be played on demand, allowing users to stay informed while commuting, getting ready for work, prospecting or managing admin. "This is not a robotic AI voice reading aloud" says Mr Fren, it's our very own RET team, recording every session.

Beyond content, the expanded platform includes careers, events, podcasts, market intelligence and additional member tools designed to make Real Estate Today part of a professional’s daily workflow.

For advertisers and commercial partners, the company has launched RET Intelligence, a smart campaign solution that uses audience behaviour and content engagement signals to improve targeting and campaign relevance.

Rather than relying on repetitive banner placements or untargeted reach, the system is designed to help brands appear in front of the right audience, in the right context, at the right time.

Fren said the broader vision is to create a stronger experience for both readers and partners.

“If people spend more time on the platform because it genuinely helps them, that creates better outcomes for everyone involved, readers, advertisers and the wider industry.”

The launch follows a rapid period of growth for the business in Australia.

After entering the market in January 2025 with a single bulletin, Real Estate Today says it became the most engaged and most influential real estate media publication in Australia by May, according to Google AI and ChatGPT, a position it says it has held for the past 11 consecutive months.

The brand first launched in New Zealand in 2023, expanded into India in 2024, entered Australia in January 2025 and launched in the United States in September 2025.

Its guiding philosophy, Fren said, has remained consistent throughout that growth.

“From the beach to the bush, from the city to the country, we built this for everybody in the industry.”

With further international expansion planned, the latest launch positions Real Estate Today as an increasingly ambitious player in the evolution of real estate media.
