Pizza and Prospecting has quickly become one of the most energising initiatives inside Urban Real Estate.
Created by our Director of Residential Sales, Trent Brewer, the concept is simple: bring great people together for a full day, create an environment of accountability and support, and focus on the activities that drive growth.
The results speak for themselves.
By the end of the day, our team had secured 90 appraisals, completed 605 conversations with clients and prospects, and added more than 600 notes into Agentbox. Beyond the numbers, we saw relationships re-engaged, confidence grow and momentum build across the business.
There is something powerful about taking a task that can often feel repetitive or isolating and turning it into a shared experience. Prospecting is not always the most glamorous part of real estate, but it is one of the most important. When you bring people together, create the right atmosphere and give them a reason to lean into the work, the energy changes.
That is what Pizza and Prospecting has done.
It has created a room full of activity, conversation and purpose. It has helped agents get out of their own heads, pick up the phone, reconnect with their database and build confidence through action. It has also reminded everyone that prospecting does not need to feel heavy. With the right culture around it, it can feel productive, positive and even enjoyable.
As CEO, one of the highlights for me was spending the day alongside the team. I wasn’t observing from a distance. I was making my own recruitment calls, connecting with prospective talent and sharing in the experience with everyone else in the room. I even got to ring the bell myself.
What stood out most was the impact of dedicating an entire day to a single focus. As the hours passed, the energy didn’t fade, it grew. Conversations led to opportunities, opportunities led to appraisals, and every time the bell rang, the entire room celebrated the result. There was a genuine sense of momentum that simply wouldn’t have been created if everyone had been prospecting alone.
At Urban Real Estate, we believe growth is built through consistent habits. Not occasional bursts of motivation. Not waiting until the market shifts. Not only prospecting when listings are needed. The strongest real estate businesses are built by staying close to people, nurturing relationships and creating conversations before opportunity is urgent.
Pizza and Prospecting brings that philosophy to life in a practical way.
It gives our team structure, energy and accountability around one of the most important disciplines in real estate. It removes the sense that prospecting is something agents have to do alone and replaces it with a shared rhythm. People are in the room together, doing the work together and building momentum together.
That matters.
In real estate, it is easy to become distracted by the next platform, the next tool, the next system or the next marketing trend. All of those things have their place, but nothing replaces the power of meaningful conversations. The phone still matters. Follow up still matters. Local relationships still matter. Trust still matters.
Prospecting is where many of those relationships begin.
It is the call to a past client. The check in with someone who may not be ready today, but might be in six months. The conversation with a homeowner who is watching the market. The follow up with someone who simply needed to hear from you at the right time.
Those moments add up.
Not every call becomes a listing. Not every conversation becomes an appointment. But every session builds confidence, discipline and market connection. It builds the professional muscle agents need if they want to grow sustainable careers.
That is why Pizza and Prospecting is about more than pizza.
It is about culture.
It is about creating an environment where action feels supported. It is about helping agents build better habits in a way that feels collaborative rather than forced. It is about showing that serious business growth can still have energy, personality and connection behind it.
As leaders, we have a responsibility to create the conditions where people can perform at their best. We cannot simply tell agents to prospect and expect them to succeed in isolation. We need to build the rhythm, the environment and the culture that makes the important work easier to start and easier to sustain.
Pizza and Prospecting has shown us that when you bring people together around a clear purpose, the impact can be immediate.
We talk a lot about culture in business. What I saw that day was culture in action.
It was people encouraging one another, celebrating each other’s wins, holding each other accountable and staying focused on a common goal. The energy in the room showed exactly what Urban is about. We are a business that believes high performance and genuine support can coexist. In fact, I think the best results happen when they do.
For Urban Real Estate, this initiative reflects the type of business we are building. One that values performance, but also understands the importance of energy. One that expects action, but creates support around it. One that believes in the fundamentals, but delivers them in a way that feels modern, human and engaging.
Real estate success does not come from waiting for the phone to ring.
It comes from creating opportunity.
Every appraisal starts with a conversation, and every time that bell rang it reinforced a simple truth: consistent action creates momentum.
For me, that was the real success of the initiative. Not just the conversations, appointments or appraisals generated, but the confidence, connection and momentum created along the way. Watching people support one another, celebrate success together and leave the room with more confidence than when they arrived was a powerful reminder of the type of business we are building.
That is the impact of Pizza and Prospecting.
It is simple. It is practical. It brings people together. And most importantly, it is helping create the kind of momentum every real estate business needs.
