In a property market that continually shifts and challenges even the most experienced professionals, Harcourts Victoria is setting a new benchmark for excellence.

The leading real estate network has successfully concluded its third highly anticipated auction simulation training session, designed to equip agents with the critical skills required to master the auction process and deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.

Recognising that performance on auction day is a direct reflection of meticulous preparation behind the scenes, Harcourts Victoria has made this simulation programme a cornerstone of its educational calendar. Adam Fiteni, CEO of Harcourts Victoria (pictured leading a training session), emphasised the importance of practical application in a highly competitive industry. "Too often, real estate training sits at a conceptual level, leaving professionals motivated but without the practical tools to implement what they have learned," Mr Fiteni stated. "Our simulation training bridges the gap between knowing and doing. It allows our people to practise under pressure, refine their approach, and build the confidence necessary to execute flawlessly in real-life situations."

The comprehensive programme balances theoretical knowledge with intense, practical execution. The initial phase of the session focuses on the mechanics of a world-class campaign, covering essential elements such as vendor and buyer management, clear communication, and expectation setting. Participants learn the discipline required to control the process from the initial listing to the final fall of the hammer, or in post negotiations if needed, reinforcing the reality that successful auctions are built in the weeks leading up to the event, not just on the day itself.

The second half of the training brings these concepts to life through rigorous, real-world scenarios. Participants take on various roles, including vendors, agents, buyers, and bidders, to run live auctions complete with the unpredictability, pressure, and emotion characteristic of the real estate market. Following the simulation, the group conducts a raw and practical real-time review to identify successes, missed opportunities, and areas for strategic improvement.

Originally developed by Tony Lombardi and Robert Ozzimo from Harcourts Rata And Co—an office widely recognised across the network for its auction excellence—the session has become a staple for Harcourts Victoria. Mr Fiteni highlighted the broader impact of this initiative on the network's overarching goals.

"Training, when done correctly, is a continuous commitment to raising standards," he noted. "By investing in our agents and placing them in environments where they are challenged and stretched, we ensure they stand out in the marketplace. When our people grow, our clients benefit, and the entire network moves forward."

As agents navigate some of the most significant financial milestones in their clients' lives, Harcourts Victoria remains dedicated to fostering an environment of absolute professionalism and diligence. The ongoing success of the auction simulation training underscores the brand's unwavering commitment to empowering its agents and delivering a superior client experience across every transaction.
