Momentum is building behind the Harcourts Foundation’s fundraising campaign for Orange Sky, with professional long drive golfer Matt Stubbs set to headline a unique on-course activation at its annual Harcourts Foundation Golf Day ahead of the group’s flagship HX Conference.
The Golf Day impact extends well beyond the course, with the Foundation encouraging the wider community and industry to get involved through donations in the lead-up to and during HX, as well as anyone who wants to pay to play can do so to support the Foundation and its work.
Funds raised will go directly to Orange Sky, supporting the delivery of free laundry and shower services to people experiencing homelessness, while also fostering connection through conversation.
Pauline Smith, Head of the Harcourts Foundation, said the timing of the event plays an important role in building focus and energy around the cause.
“At its core, the Foundation is about helping people, and this is a chance for our network to come together and make a real difference,” Smith said.
“Having the Golf Day just before HX allows us to build real momentum, bringing our people together around a shared purpose before we come together as a network.”
Adding to the appeal of the day, Harcourts Managing Director Mike Green will join participants on the course, alongside Stubbs — who is currently ranked inside the top 30 in the world — bringing a unique fundraising element to the event.
Stubbswill take up position on a designated tee, where groups can make a donation to use one of his drives, giving them the rare opportunity to play their second shot from a world-class long drive.
“It’s a great way to bring some extra energy and fun to the day, while still keeping the focus on fundraising,” Smith said.
“There’s a real sense of connection on the course, and elements like this help create an experience people genuinely want to be part of — while supporting an important cause.”
Smith said the Foundation is focused on making it easy for people to contribute, whether or not they are attending the Golf Day.
“You don’t have to be on the course to be involved,” she said.
“Whether it’s a donation, supporting at HX, or simply helping spread the word, every contribution helps extend the reach of Orange Sky’s work.”
The initiative has also received support from Kolmeo, which has contributed $10,000 to the Foundation, helping to expand the impact of the fundraising effort.
“Support from partners like Kolmeo plays an important role in helping us maximise the difference we can make,” Smith said.
The initiative builds on the success of last year’s inaugural Golf Day, which raised around $7,000 and brought together more than 95 Harcourts professionals, laying the foundation for what has become a key fundraising moment for the network.
Globally, the Harcourts Foundation has raised more than $10 million to support community initiatives.
With strong backing from across the Harcourts network, the Foundation expects this year’s campaign to generate significant momentum — both in funds raised and awareness for the cause.
“This is about coming together with purpose,” Smith said.
“Every dollar raised helps support people doing it tough, and that’s something we can all be part of.”
