Local driver Bailey Sweeny’s childhood ambition continues with the support of two Batemans Bay business leaders
For Batemans Bay-born racing driver Bailey Sweeny, the dream of competing at Bathurst began when he was just five years old.
Now 23, Bailey is continuing to build his career in Australian motorsport, competing for Blanchard Racing Team (BRT) in the 2026 Dunlop Super2 Series, with support from Harcourts Batemans Bay principals Dene Lewthwaite and Omania Terry.
Dene and Omania first backed Bailey when he was competing in a lower driving division, after he approached them for sponsorship. A passionate motorsport enthusiast, Dene was keen to help, and both saw an opportunity to support a local young driver working towards a dream he had held since childhood.
The connection was particularly close to home, with Bailey having attended the same high school as Dene’s son.
Their support has continued as Bailey has progressed through the ranks, building on a career that includes multiple state karting championships and being named TCR Australia Rookie of the Year in 2022.
Bailey made his first Bathurst Supercars appearance in 2024 in the Super3 category. This year, he stepped onto the Super2 stage in the #33 Ford Mustang GT, representing Blanchard Racing Team.
His 2026 Bathurst weekend delivered an impressive qualifying performance, securing his maiden Super2 pole position on Friday before repeating the achievement on Saturday. He followed Friday’s qualifying result with a second-place finish in the race, earning a podium finish, before placing eighth in Saturday’s race.

For Bailey, having local businesses invest in his journey is about more than financial backing. It is about knowing his community is behind him as he works towards his goals.
“Having the support of Harcourts Batemans Bay means a lot to me. Having local businesses get behind me to support my goals and be part of my journey is incredible. I’m grateful to have their support and proud to represent our local community.”
Andrew McCulloch, CEO of Harcourts NSW, said the support reflected the network’s values.

“People First is at the heart of Harcourts, and it’s fantastic to see Dene and Omania bringing that value to life through their support of local talent. Seeing Bailey succeed on the national stage is a wonderful example of the difference genuine community support can make.”
For Dene and Omania, supporting Bailey reflects their commitment to backing people in their local community and helping them pursue opportunities. For Dene, a love of motorsport made supporting Bailey an easy decision, particularly given Bailey’s local roots and determination to follow his dream.
As Bailey continues to develop his career, the relationship is a reminder of the role local businesses can play in helping emerging talent take the next step.
His 2026 Dunlop Super2 Series campaign concludes at the bp Adelaide Grand Final from 26–29 November, where he will compete in the final round of the championship.
For Harcourts Batemans Bay, it will be another opportunity to follow a local driver whose ambition began with a childhood trip to Bathurst and who continues to carry the support and pride of his hometown onto the national stage.
