Harcourts Adelaide Hills Goes the Distance for Local Animal Rescue

Harcourts Adelaide Hills has raised $1,200 for local animal rescue organisation Furever Farm Inc. after team members, family and friends took part in the 2026 Brooks Adelaide Marathon Festival in support of the charity.

Held on Sunday 3 May, the event brought together more than 3,000 participants and saw the Harcourts Adelaide Hills team run to raise funds for Furever Farm, a South Australian animal sanctuary that cares for more than 240 rescued animals. The fundraiser combined fitness, teamwork and community spirit, with all proceeds going directly towards the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of vulnerable animals.

The campaign reflects Harcourts Adelaide Hills’ ongoing commitment to supporting local organisations that make a meaningful difference across the Adelaide Hills region.

Annabel Dibbens, Marketing and Sales Support at Harcourts Adelaide Hills, said the team was delighted to back a cause that resonates strongly with the local community.

“We’re incredibly proud of the team and grateful to be able to support such a deserving local charity,” Ms Dibbens said. “There was a fantastic sense of community around the event, and it was rewarding to see everyone come together for a cause that means so much to many people across the Adelaide Hills.”

Ms Dibbens also said the team was thankful for the generosity shown throughout the campaign. “Every donation made a difference, and we’re incredibly appreciative of everyone who got behind the initiative,” she said.

Participants from the Harcourts Adelaide Hills team described the day as both challenging and rewarding, with many achieving personal milestones while running for a shared cause.

Lucca said, “I really enjoyed running for a cause alongside my fellow team members. Supporting a local charity definitely motivated me to run my first-ever competitive 10km.”

“It was amazing to see the Harcourts Adelaide Hills team come together to support a local charity,” said Annabel. “Running for a South Australian sanctuary and then meeting the animals made it even more worthwhile.”

Amelia commented, “Running alongside the team for a local cause made the whole day feel a lot more meaningful. There was such a good atmosphere throughout the event, and knowing we were raising money for Furever Farm definitely helped push me through the tougher parts of the run and achieve a PB.”

Sam added, “There was a great atmosphere across the whole event, and it was pretty special seeing everyone push themselves, chase PB’s and raise money for such an incredible local organisation.”

Georgia, who completed her first competitive run on the day, said, “It was my first competitive run, and honestly, the hills were brutal, but there was something really motivating about doing it for Furever Farm. The atmosphere, the support, and the cause made every kilometre worth it.”

The fundraising effort concluded with a cheque presentation on 12 May in Stirling, where representatives from Furever Farm — Darren, Hayley, Murphy and Prickles — joined the Harcourts Adelaide Hills team for afternoon tea and accepted the ceremonial cheque.

Jo Phelps, South Australia Harcourts Foundation Ambassador, presented the cheque and praised the team’s commitment.

“Well done to you both for organising this wonderful initiative — and for braving the cold and wet to run last Sunday!” Ms Phelps said.

Furever Farm Inc. is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need, supported by a network of volunteers and foster carers. The funds raised will assist the organisation in continuing its vital work caring for animals across South Australia.

The success of the initiative highlights the positive role local businesses can play in supporting grassroots charities and strengthening community connections. It also builds on the strong support shown by the wider community and the Harcourts Foundation in the lead-up to and throughout the event.
