After 12 years of saving lives and navigating the unpredictable tides of reality television, Bondi Rescue star Harrison Reid is trading his blue lifeguard shirt for a tailored suit. The beloved TV personality has announced his transition into the property market, joining New Zealand’s number one Harcourts franchise, Harcourts Gold, to work alongside top agent Cameron Bailey.
Reid, a familiar face across Australia and New Zealand, earned public trust through his calm leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to safety on the sand. Now, he brings those exact qualities to real estate. Whether navigating a tricky negotiation or guiding clients through their most significant financial decisions, Reid applies the same deep sense of responsibility he used to keep beachgoers safe.
For Reid, the move to Harcourts was a deliberate and natural progression. "When you're used to high-pressure situations, you learn pretty quickly the value of having a reliable team around you," Reid said of his career pivot. "I knew if I was going to step into real estate, I wanted to learn from the absolute best. Harcourts Gold, and Cameron Bailey (pictured, right) in particular, operate at a level I massively respect. Real estate is ultimately about helping people, building trust, and solving problems—just with fewer shark alarms and a lot more paperwork."
Raised in the seaside suburb of Sumner in Christchurch, Reid’s community-minded upbringing and connection to the ocean shaped his values of resilience, service, and integrity. Those principles anchored his career as a professional lifeguard, a role he stepped into at just 18 years old.
Reflecting on his time at Bondi, Reid remains deeply grateful for the experience. "Not many people get to say they landed their dream job at 18 and lived it for 12 years," he shared. "Turning up to work each day with your best mates, never knowing what the day would throw at you, who would knock on the tower door, or who would end up in a rip and need help. I watched my mates do incredible things and save countless lives. It was a privilege and an honour to wear the blue shirt a young me once dreamed about."
Since winning over viewers as a lovable larrikin in 2014, Reid has seen the very best of humanity, alongside the confronting situations only frontline personnel truly understand. His enduring popularity recently led him to brave the South African jungle on this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Now, grounded back in his New Zealand roots, Reid is ready to tackle this next chapter. He brings a refreshing authenticity to the Harcourts Gold team, proving that the skills forged in the surf translate perfectly to achieving exceptional results for his clients.
