Emerging proptech player FOUNDIT has marked its entry into the Sydney market with the appointment of respected buyers agent Sabeen Akbani, strengthening its national footprint with a high-calibre local expert.

Backed by more than 17 years in residential sales, buyer advocacy, and property finance, Akbani steps in as FOUNDIT’s first Sydney-based partner – a strategic move as the platform positions itself as a serious player in reshaping the property buying experience.

Well-regarded across the eastern suburbs and inner west, Akbani is known for her client-first approach and sharp negotiation skills – assets that align closely with FOUNDIT’s mission to give buyers an edge in a competitive environment.

“Buyers in Sydney are up against some of the toughest conditions in the country – and they need more than just listings; they need insight, strategy, and support,” Akbani said.

“FOUNDIT brings together the tools, data and expert advice buyers actually need. I’m excited to help drive that shift in a market I know inside out.”

The appointment follows the recent addition of Melbourne-based Lynda McNeill to the platform, as FOUNDIT builds a curated network of experienced buyer agents across Australia.

Co-founder Angus Ferguson says Akbani’s arrival is a major step forward.

“Sabeen is one of the sharpest operators in the industry and widely respected for her work with buyers,” he said. “Her appointment reflects exactly the kind of expert-led support we believe every buyer deserves.”

Launched in June, FOUNDIT has already raised $2 million in pre-seed funding and secured backing from major names in the real estate tech sector – including leaders from Realbase, Realtair and Propps.

Its goal: to create a smarter, more streamlined experience for buyers by connecting them with trusted agents and market data early in the process – removing friction and wasted time on both sides of the transaction.

The FOUNDIT team is continuing to grow its partner network ahead of a wider consumer rollout later this year.
