Harcourts Playing Cupid: We Deal in Bricks, Mortar, and Hearts

Let’s be honest: usually, the focus is entirely on bricks and mortar. But this Valentine’s Day, Harcourts is admitting to having a soft spot for the slushy stuff, too.

It turns out the property giant deals in hearts just as much as houses, inadvertently becoming quite the matchmaker for staff and clients alike.

Take Cassandra and Jarath, for example. What started as a classic workplace rivalry at the Albion Park office—where she thought he was cocky and he thought she was a pain—eventually softened over a post-auction drink. Fast forward six years, and that professional bickering turned into marriage vows.

They have built a life, a home, and a career together, proving that sometimes the best open inspections lead to open hearts.

The romance does not stop there. Over at Harcourts Rata & Co, Lenita and Paul have just married, while Steven and Diana are about to have their first child. These workplace romances suggest that a shared passion for property often translates into a shared life.

However, the love bug is not just biting the staff.

At Harcourts Roxburgh Park, the team recently watched a client place a ‘sold’ sticker on a signboard, only to turn around and find her partner on one knee in the front garden. It was a case of finding a forever home and a forever partner in the same afternoon.

At the end of the day, Harcourts acknowledges that it is the love for the job that keeps the lights on.

"It’s hard not to fall in love with the energy here," says Adam, a Sales Agent. "We run on coffee and adrenaline, sure, but there’s nothing quite like the buzz of helping someone start a new chapter. It’s addictive in the best way."

The Property Managers are just as smitten with the process. Rachel, a Senior Property Manager, explains, "It sounds cheesy, but handing over the keys is the best feeling. You’re not just finding someone a rental; you’re giving them a sanctuary. That’s why I do it."

This commitment extends beyond four walls. Through the Harcourts Foundation, the company is pouring love back into the neighbourhoods that support them.

"We’re in the business of people, not just property," notes Pauline Smith, Head of the Harcourts Foundation. "Seeing our grants make a tangible difference to local charities? That’s the real love story."

Whether it is office romances, garden proposals, or just the joy of a job well done, love is definitely in the air.

Harcourts might be a property giant, but they are clearly romantics at heart.

Happy Valentines Day!
