Adelaide sales executive and auctioneer Thomas Korte has joined Harcourts Premium Group, bringing a client-first approach to residential property sales and a strong focus on helping people make informed decisions.
Specialising in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, where he also lives with his family, Thomas entered the real estate industry in 2023. Since then, he has built his approach around strategic marketing, negotiation and auction campaigns, supported by market data and an understanding of buyer behaviour.
For Thomas, however, the work goes well beyond securing a sale.
“Every property represents an important chapter in someone’s life, and our responsibility extends well beyond the transaction. It’s about understanding what matters to each client, providing considered advice and helping them make informed decisions,” Thomas said.
That philosophy was put to the test when he represented a vendor selling a property in Smithfield. As market conditions softened, the strongest bid at auction fell short of the price the vendor had hoped to achieve. Thomas nevertheless recommended accepting the offer, based on his assessment of the market and the risk of holding out for a better result.
The vendor trusted his advice. Thomas later helped her purchase a rural property through another agency, and within six months she had referred four friends to him.
For Thomas, the experience reinforced the value of putting a client’s interests ahead of the pressure to achieve a particular result.
“The true measure of our work isn’t simply the result achieved on auction day, but the confidence clients have in the decisions they’ve made. When people know their interests have genuinely come first, that trust becomes the foundation of a lasting relationship,” he said.
Thomas’s approach combines practical market knowledge with a commitment to clear communication, helping clients understand their options and the reasoning behind his recommendations. He believes data and technology have an important role to play in real estate, but their value ultimately depends on how effectively they are interpreted and applied to each client’s circumstances.
His involvement in the Playford community also reflects his interest in building relationships beyond individual property transactions.
Joining Harcourts Premium Group represents an opportunity for Thomas to continue developing his business within a network that aligns with his values and long-term ambitions.
Harcourts South Australia CEO Heather Edwards said Thomas’s focus on relationships and considered advice was a valuable addition to the business.
“Thomas understands that great service is about more than the transaction itself. It’s about listening, being honest with clients and having the confidence to provide advice that serves their best interests, even when the conversation isn’t an easy one. That commitment to building trust is important to the relationships we want our people to create with their clients and communities,” Heather said.
For Thomas, success means knowing clients feel supported throughout the process and confident in the decisions they make — whether that is selling at auction, purchasing their next home or planning their next chapter.
As he continues to grow his business with Harcourts Premium Group, that commitment to putting people first will remain central to his work.
