REMAX marks significant milestone as proposed Real acquisition receives securityholder approval.
REMAX Australia Managing Director Joel Davoren said the move marked a significant milestone for the future of REMAX globally and opportunities for the Australian network.
“Here in Australia, we have always been very independent and progressive in our approach to innovation, services, systems and support, and this will obviously continue,” he said.
“Our brand, identity, franchise network and entrepreneurial culture remain at the heart of the opportunity.
“For our Australian network, our focus remains exactly where it should be, that is in supporting our brokers, agents, members and businesses to grow and succeed.”
REMAX brings one of the most recognised and respected brands in real estate, an extraordinary global network and a franchise model that has demonstrated its strength for decades; Real brings technology, a highly entrepreneurial culture and a different approach to supporting agents and brokers.
“Together, there is the potential to create a stronger, more innovative and better-resourced organisation that can compete even more effectively in the rapidly changing real estate environment.”
The REMAX brand has an extraordinary history, a remarkable global network and a strong position in the real estate industry. The opportunity to combine the strength of that foundation with new technology, resources and entrepreneurial thinking creates significant potential for the future.
The proposed acquisition of REMAX Holdings by Real has been approved by securityholders of both companies, with formal settlement of the deal anticipated to occur in the coming weeks.
For now, REMAX and Real continue to operate independently. Upon closing, the combined company will operate as Real REMAX Group, a holding company that brings together Real’s technology-powered brokerage platform and entrepreneurial community with the iconic global REMAX brand and franchise network.
Most importantly, Mr Davoren said, REMAX Australia will remain REMAX Australia.
