An awards submission is a clear account of your work, not a list of superlatives. Here is a practical structure for the first draft.

An awards submission is your opportunity to explain a piece of work in a form that can be assessed against the published category criteria. It is not a guarantee of recognition, and it should never rely on claims you cannot support.

    Explain the challenge

What was happening, and why did it require action? Give enough context for someone outside your business to understand the problem.

    Show your contribution

Describe what you personally did, and acknowledge the team where the work was shared. Be specific about decisions, actions and responsibility.

Connect the action to the outcome

Explain what changed. Use only verified figures, approved examples and evidence that is relevant to the category. Avoid implying that every positive result came from one action if other factors contributed.

    Finish with what you learned

A considered reflection can explain how the work improved your practice. Keep it honest, concise and connected to the entry criteria.

    Check the official process

Before submitting, check eligibility, required materials and the current instructions on the official awards website. Submission means putting your work forward for consideration; it does not mean you have won or been shortlisted.
