In a significant boost to the local property sector, Harcourts Tasmania Performance Coach Molly Gibbons has successfully guided over 130 aspiring agents to obtain their Property Representative licence since April 2024.

Through her intensive Exam Preparation Workshop, Ms Gibbons is reshaping how new entrants navigate the complex legislative requirements of the Tasmanian real estate industry.

Obtaining a licence in Tasmania requires passing a rigorous examination—a hurdle that often proves daunting for new recruits. Gibbons’ comprehensive two-day, in-class workshop dismantles this barrier.

By translating dense legislation into practical, real-world examples, she transforms a source of anxiety into a foundation of professional confidence.

Delivered by Harcourts Tasmania, the exam preparation course is open to Harcourts employees as well as students from other brands and those considering a career in real estate.

Participants are supported to continue their professional development by progressing to the Certificate IV in Real Estate with the Harcourts Real Estate Training Centre.

The efficacy of Ms Gibbons’ approach is evident in the data. In the past rolling 12 months alone, she has assisted 88 agents in securing their credentials.

Her programme has become a critical pipeline for the workforce, supporting school leavers and mature-age students alike.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of this workshop is witnessing the shift from apprehension to capability," says Molly.

"For many, especially mature-age students returning to an exam setting after decades, the fear is significant. My goal is to turn that anxiety into competence, ensuring they enter the industry not just licensed, but genuinely prepared."

The workshop distinguishes itself through personalised, face-to-face interaction. Unlike remote learning options, the in-person format allows Ms Gibbons to address questions in real-time, tailoring her instruction to suit individual learning needs. This establishes a culture of trust and diligence before agents even secure their first listing.

Gunjesh Shah, a Sales Consultant at Harcourts Launceston and former student, emphasizes the lasting impact of the training. "Molly’s knowledge and practical teaching approach were instrumental in building my foundational understanding.

The course delivers relevant, ethical learning that directly translates into real-world practice. I find myself applying her instructions daily."

Rahni Pascoe, Asset Manager at Harcourts Launceston, adds, "Molly has a way of explaining concepts so that everyone, regardless of their knowledge level, can understand. It takes the pressure off and eases your mind."

As the Tasmanian real estate market continues to evolve, the demand for well-trained, confident representatives remains high. Aspiring agents looking to secure their future in the industry are encouraged to enrol in the next available workshop to ensure they start their career on a positive, professional note.
